Wahada is a Japanese restaurant that is located on Nicholson near Brightside. This restaurant is my go-to for good sushi and good food for a moderate price. You can get a bento box that is really filling for around 10 dollars. You can get a big plate of fried rice for 7 dollars. You can get some ramen or some other noodles for 7-10 dollars. I think the price for these specific items are pretty worth it for the quality of the food that you get.
The service is really good as well. The waiter or waitress are usually really nice and accommodating. They would bring you the food relatively quickly, and they would refill your drink pretty quickly as well. They also have worked hard to make sure that the area is clear and that the customers are well and happy.
The food is really good. I always enjoy it. The taste of everything is very well seasoned and very hearty. The ramen soup is hot and has a deep flavor to it. The fried rice always has the burn of the pan on it which gives it a umami taste. The sushi always tastes fresh and packs a nice taste with it. The ginger and wasabi is pretty fresh and adds even more flavor to the sushi.
I think this sushi place does a lot to provide the customer with quality food at a decent price. I would definitely recommend coming here, but I might be biased as I go here a lot. -

Perfect for a college budget! I "splurged" and had the New Orleans roll and loved it! Though could have used a bit of crunch, maybe cucumber? Either way the flavors were amazing perfect amount if spice to excite those tastebuds! My roomate whose vegan was very pleased with her avocado roll and vegetable rolls! Oh I also had the shrimp tempura roll, nothing to write home about but it did the job. We were served "freaky fast" as our waiter pointed out All in all, decent experience but decor needs a lot of work. So they are definitely going to be a take-out option for me.

"Meh. I've experienced better" basically sums it up. I didn't care for plum wine because it was way too sweet like a jolly rancher. The freshness of the salmon sashimi was not very high. I also found it very strange to me that the sashimi appetizer does not come separately, instead it's served along with your rolls.
The Mardi Gras roll ($11.50) tasted the exact same as the salmon avocado roll ($4.50) except that it had multi-colored fish roe on top of it. They really go all out with the fish roe. The overall texture it added was a little off-putting. I have noticed a good bit of their special and very special rolls are deep fried or tempura. None of the rolls exactly stood out to me honestly.
My boyfriend ordered the ramen, which was especially basic. The broth taste exactly like miso soup.
Although they do have great service here and very reasonable prices, the food was average at best. -

My go to for pick-up. Always fresh and ready quickly. Great hours and good prices. Never had a roll I didn't love.

I've been to several sushi places in Baton Rouge and I have to say this one is nothing really special. I got the chicken teriyaki, pink lady roll and the Philadelphia roll.
The chicken teriyaki entree was not great. The chicken was really dry. The teriyaki sauce was a little thick for my liking. The ginger dressing on the salad tasted a little too much like mayo.
The pink lady roll was decent. Probably my favorite of the three things I ordered.
The Philadelphia roll was fine. Nothing much to say about that.
